Brief Summary
The COPE-AKI Consortium is accepting applications for Clinical Centers to join the COPE-AKI clinical trial as a new participating site. In addition to helping the study reach its enrollment goal, we are seeking centers with a demonstrated ability to recruit and retain participants from large Hispanic/Latino populations.
About the Study
COPE-AKI (NCT05805709) is a randomized, pragmatic, parallel-arm trial comparing a multimodal care intervention to usual care, measured by hospital-free days through 90 days of follow-up. The study aims to enroll 2,145 participants. COPE-AKI will test a multimodal process-of-care intervention that includes 1) study physician oversight and follow up structured care recommendations at the time of hospital discharge; 2) involvement of a nurse navigator (NN) to provide kidney-disease related education, coordinate care, and assess symptoms; and 3) pharmacist-led medication reconciliation and review, education and social support.
